Maternal Health Education at the Community Health Center of Pademangan Sub-District
The Community Health Center of Pademangan Sub-District organized a highly significant health education event for midwives in the North Jakarta region. The event aimed to enhance the knowledge and understanding of midwives regarding the management of postpartum bleeding, a condition that can pose a high risk to mothers after childbirth.
The educational event was graced by experienced speakers from Hermina Podomoro Hospital, including Dr. Matthew Simangunsong, Sp.OG, a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology. The participants were diverse, consisting of midwives and general practitioners from the Community Health Center of Pademangan Sub-District and its surrounding areas.
During the event, Dr. Matthew Simangunsong, Sp.OG, delivered various crucial information regarding the signs and symptoms of postpartum bleeding, including potential risk factors. Midwives were provided with in-depth understanding of how to promptly detect this condition and administer appropriate first aid, thus reducing negative impacts on maternal health and even saving lives.
Additionally, the midwives were informed about techniques for managing postpartum bleeding, which encompassed the administration of medications, medical procedures, and evacuation protocols if necessary. Effective communication with patients and their families during emergency situations was also emphasized during the event.
